PostSubject: Dragon Ball World! Because demand is demand.   Fri May 09, 2014 10:19 pm

Name of Anime/Manga/Book: Dragon Ball

Anime/Manga/Book Description:
The world of Dragon Ball... Filled with amazing technology, crazy OP attacks, and hideous monsters. The main premise follows Goku, a young boy who hunts the seven Dragon Balls. These legendary items grant the user one wish once they're all gathered together, and then scatter across the land to be found yet again. Goku fights many enemies, such as Pilaf, who plans on gathering the Dragon Balls to rule the world, and, eventually on Z, Freeza, Cell, and Majin Buu, the most well-known ones, which mainly aimed at objectives of destructive proportion without resorting to the Dragon Balls.

Magic System: Dragon Ball uses a special kind of energy called "Ki" (pronounced "kee", for you Japanese dummies out there). This is a tangible energy inside every living person, with its major focus being in the center of the body. By drawing it out, an individual is able to manipulate it and use it for performances outside the body, such as energy blasts, etc. It is necessary to increase one's Ki to become strong, because there are physical limits to the strength of the body itself, in order to overcome that barrier. When characters gather Ki, they are able to gain enhanced strength, speed, endurance, and can increase the power of their attacks to inflict greater damage to opponents. Normally, the more the Ki is increased, the harder it is to control, so Ki control is also important.
Here are the known uses for Ki in more detail:

Auras - Auras of ki radiate from the user when increasing the concentration of it inside their body. Warriors (excluding Androids) have a limit to the Ki that their bodies can withstand, but the capacity for Ki can be increased through mental and physical training. Some techniques (such as the Kaio-ken) rapidly increase the concentration of Ki in the body, enabling the user to fight at a strength level that far exceeds their regular limits for a limited period of time.

Ki attacks - Name is self-explanatory. Manifesting Ki into an attack. Kame-hame-ha, Makankousappou, etc.

Transformation - Depending on their succession character, some characters are able to transform. However, not all are able to transform at will; in some instances, there must be certain conditions required for their transformation, like natural instances (like moonlight for Great Ape transformations) or emotional upheaval (for Super Saiyans). By transforming, a character then acquires physical limits that somehow change the ones of their regular body. Effects of transformations usually include alterations in strength and Ki capacity. Some other effects may include differences in speed and durability. The most common transformation is the Super Saiyan transformation, which is only accessible to certain Saiyans and Saiyan/Human hybrids (Explained more in-depth in Ascended Levels). The negative aspect of most transformations is that the process itself consumes energy. The effect of energy loss when dealing with Super Saiyan transformation can be limited through training.

Second/Ascended levels:
Transformations go here.
In my opinion, there are only two transformations worth covering here: Super Saiyan and Fusion. The other ones are pretty much unique to the character and abide by their own rules.

Super Saiyan - An advanced transformation, ONLY assumed by extraordinarily powerful members of the Saiyan race. While physical change is not too drastic apart from a slight increase in muscle mass, the power output increase is colossal; in the series, the form is said to multiply the Saiyan's power (in this case, all of its stats) by 50x times its normal amount. However, this will be nerfed to make it balanced, going to 1.5x for Super Saiyan 1, 2x for Super Saiyan 2, 2.5x for Super Saiyan 3, and 3x for Super Saiyan 4. Trust me, it's still OP. All of these transformations are Thirds, and the restrictions are higher the more OP it is, like any other skill.

Fusion - This one. Everyone's favorite. It can be performed by anyone as long as at least one participant is of the Dragon Ball world, even if the other characters are from different worlds. The resulting character sums all of both fusionees' stats, and adds +20 to each. Who has control over the resulting character must be decided between the partakers, but the non-controlling users can control the character during their next post if they agree to do so. The resulting character also gains the abilities of all of its fusion material. However, fusions must be approved by staff before they are performed. Users who would like to perform a fusion should send a PM to a staff member with both of the characters that will be used for it, and the staff member will "okay" it or "nay" it. Maybe this will not be necessary - depends, but it just doesn't feel right to have people fusing with anything they find.
